So many holes... So little time...

I have done the impossible... well not impossible... just the ridiculously painful act of Punching 111 Holes(I can't think of a way of writing that without it sounding gay) cutting 107 x 25mm and 4 x 40mm holes into the 3 mm MDF. Then sanding 111 holes TWICE (top then underside... yep sounds gay again). All in all... my hands hurt.(*cough* homo *cough*)

Afterwards I used Heavy Filler (man... I just seem to be throwing out those gay references, huh) the put into the cracks (...damn it) so the foam fills all the space under the board. (okay... I give up... how do builders/handymen talk to each other without sounding like latent homosexuals?)
Tomorrow the aim is to sand it all back and apply another coat... then it is waiting to get the plasticard I need.... stupid public holidays... I have to wait till TUESDAY?!?!? Well until then here is a happy snap of the subject:

The display board as of today.

I decree to begin, what I will most probably not finish.

Today is post-tastic! As I have sorted out images and have spent all day at home (Holidays woohoo!) I have put together something that is quite stupid (awesome if it is done) but alas stupid.

'Why is it stupid?' I hear you all ask. It is because I am building a display board to hold a company of space sharks... yep thats right. 6 x Tactical Squad ; 2 x Assault Squad ; 2 x Devastator Squads ; 1 Command Squad (Honour Guard); 1 x Captain; 1 x Reclusiarch and 4 Dreadnoughts.

'Wow, not only are you a fine looking man, but that Idea is hot, you are not a stupid man at all!' I hear you all say. Well... the problem is I am a little bit short on the ARMY. I don't mean missing a few squads to paint and put together... I mean the whole freaking army... as inKein,Nessuno, Никакие,Ninguno,Κανένας None.(Babelfish is always fun). So I am creating something to display... my nothing.

Why I am so damn Smart: Reason 1

Well there is some genius to my insanity, the idea is the build every little bit on the display base, this is including all the holes for the models to sit in and I will build all the terrain on top of it. This will allow my to have fantastic bases for all my Space Sharks which will sit all snuggly in the board.

Why I am so damn Smart: Reason 2

I have designed the board (and have had them cut by incompetent Bunnings staff) To fit in a standard Games Workshop Case... and what only improves on the genius is that the risen sections a little less than 7cm tall. 'Oh please tell me what this all means as my tiny brain cannot comprehend the limitless intellect of one such as yourself' you say? It is because if I flip one board over the other... that fit perfectly taking up 2 levels in a case, meaning (drum roll) I can fit it in a an Army (or 2 smaller) cases and my space Shark Company as well.

So apart from all this dribble what have you actually done?

Here is a design sketch I quickly mocked up

Note That the board is designed to be split in two (for both packing and that I can take a half board which holds my 1500 pt Terracon Army all snug-like) and that a predominate road goes across both sections. The main crater is going to eat away most the space to I have to be careful for it. The board is designed to have a wide variety of base types within it: Road, Pavement, Sludge (sewer stream) and Rubble; which means me less likely getting board of painting/ building. After a day of messing around:

Here is the look of the current board

I have some High Density Foam Board Stuff in my house so I double layed it to make something stable. I also marked out all the roads, cuts and holes I need to make. Being an urban display board I am expecting this board to look incredibly packed, especially with the damage I want to put into the board (Bombardment craters, building damage, sewers).

So all is going well, be turned in next time to see a completely ruined board and me having a fit, as it all went to hell; cutting out the holes!

Let the case reveal!

Seeing I am annoying everyone with tales of my space marine army and how they are the single most skilled and bestest chapter in the world (thats right Pre-Heresy Emperors Children... suck my balls) I should make a mention of who they are so you may gasp and cry at the complete and utter awesomeness of my marines the:

SPACE SHARKS!

This little image now resides on the clasp/clip thing on my man-dolly case. This case has once housed Wood Elves; Ogre Kingdom; Blood Angels and now will be forever filled with its true calling of supreme excellence; Space Sharks.

The hated... no pictures.

Another few weeks, another post fast becomming the dreaded... 'I have been doing heaps of stuff but too busy to take photos'.

It is a pet hate of mine with people explaining what they are doing... with no pictures....
'Dammit, load some freaking pictures up, I don't go on the internets to use my brain'

So here I am posting what I have been working on... Nothing... well nothing worthy of note.
I did build a Warp flame thrower for my skaven, some awesome mech-rat ogres. I also painted a little space shark flag and symbol on my case, I also put my first unit together whom are now awaiting green stuff and bases... but since there is no pictures... I might as well lie and tell you how I have made over 2,000 pts of skaven with brick-freaking-work bases with conversions scattered about the place... oh wait... I have...

I am not going to make promises how I will rectify this situation post haste... I might... but you saw how my weekly update promise went...

So yeah, pretty much the ideas of no pictures... as once one wise(ass) man one said... 'Is evil and Sadistic', but yet here is the post.... damn.

Humble beginnings

Well here I throw myself into the blogging forte with the commencement of my awesome blog. The people shall come in droves and admire my work as the esteemed high quality art in which it is classifed. Amongst the great works by laymen such as Leonardo da Vinci, Vincent van Gogh, Michelangelo di Lodovico Buonarroti Simoni and many others; lay my creations of plastic prowess.

This blog is mainly to post some stuff up giving myself a digital diary about something that I waste *cough* demote a lot of my time to. Hopefully people can look at my stuff, perhaps comment on it if I can be bothered allowing to myself to read the tripe people spew forth. I hope to post regularly at least once a week and obviously if I am having fun with something I will post more... but don't hold your breath.
